6-foot, 163-pound projectable frame. Smooth during batting practice, Underhill had a max exit velocity of 92 mph. Starts in an athletic stance with an smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Had above average bat speed, simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. He created a lot of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Aggressive approach. Athletic from the outfield, he showed plus arm strength by making throws to the infield at velocities up to 91 mph;shows consistent feet, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a very quick arm action and a ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.82. Projectable on the mound, showed a ¾ arm angle and a very quick arm action with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Shows downhill shoulders. Displayed a falling off finish Produced a fastball that came in at 83-85 mph; has control in the zone and running action with tight movement. His 11/5 curveball (74-77) shows consistent command and late action. Has sinking action and consistent command on his changeup (75-77).
5-foot-11, 157-pound frame. athletic with projection . At the plate,
the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 81 mph. Starts in a balanced athletic stance,
has a wrapping load and uses a short stride to start his swing. Displayed an uphill swing
plane, quick bat speed and extension on his finish. Base hit approach with occasional gap power. In the outfield, he used momentum and arm strength to record throws up to 90 mph; has sure hands and athletic footwork. Used athletic movements laterally. He established speed as one of his strengths with an event-best 60 time of 6.82.
On the mound, showing quick arm speed, had a high ¾ slot with a
shorter arm action. Sat with his fastball at 81-82 mph T84. Had in the zone
control and good action on his 11/5 curveball (68-70). His changeup(75-77) shows some fading
action. Has potential to be a high-level 2022 prospect, certainly an intriguing two-way guy who likely projects as a CF.
