Registered a top exit velocity during BP of 102.09 mph with a top ball flight distance of 377 feet. Ran 7.22 60-yard dash. Solid receiver and blocker behind the dish. Handles velocity well. Good arm strength at 78 mph, 1.9 workout pop times. Committed to Purdue following PBR Future Games.

6-foot-1, 205 pound right-handed hitting catcher with strong frame. Hits from a balanced setup and utilizes a short stride to initiate swing. Direct barrel path with consistent hard contact. Aggressive approach and flashes gap power with strength in swing. Looks to drive the baseball. Registered one of the top exit velocities of the event at 93 mph. Posted a 7.51 60-yard dash.
Showed a big jump in arm strength behind the dish (71 mph in June 2019) with a top throw of 78 mph to second base. Extremely accurate throws to the bag with carry. As arm strength improved so did workout pop times in the 1.90-2.00 range. Gaffney's bat has always been a strengh in his game and now the catch and throw ability has certainly caught up with the offensive ability. One of the top players in the 2022 class.
