Lean strength, some length, but on the barrel all weekend. The swing has present leverage and uses the lean strength well. Innate timing overall. Defensively, he may have some question marks at third, but showed present athleticism and the bat plays.

6-foot-3, 180-pound RHH combines good athleticism at first base with the potential to be one of the top power bats in the 2019 class. Aggressive plate approach and looks to drive the baseball with some lift in swing, uses lower half well, showed big jump in exit velocity, went 1-for-5 in game play with a single to left field and hard line out to SS. Athletic first baseman with a soft glove and good footwork. Continues to develop into a high-level prospect.

6-foot-3, 170-pound RHH continues to show well as a hitter, balanced stance, short stride, engages lower half well, shows consistent power for age that will only get better as he fills in his frame. Worked out at third base for the first time and shows the athleticism and hands to handle the position, long high-3/4 release with solid arm strength and accurate throws, good body control on slow roller. Willhoite will continue to develop into a power hitting corner guy with the ability to play both corner positions.

6-foot-3, 173-pound RHH, long/lanky frame with room to fill out, balanced stance, short stride, fairly deep hand load, gets the barrel on plane and keeps it in the zone, good power for age that should continue to develop, uses all fields well, has a chance to be a top hitter in the 2019 class, went 2-for-3 with a triple in game play, showed improved speed down the line. Soft hands and good athleticism defensively, moves fluidly around the bag, good arm strength, very solid defender at first base.

6/14/16 - 60 Time: 7.63, Position Velocity:  IF-76, Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot-2, 175-pound RHH hits from a balanced stance, short stride, uses a fairly deep hand load, well above average bat speed for age, keeps the barrel in the zone and shows power potential to the gaps, went 1-for-2 in game play with an infield single, also stole a base. Showed improved footwork around the first base bag, soft hands, accurate throws. Willhoite is a player to keep a close eye on in the 2019 class.

2/13/16 - 6-foot-2, 173-pound RHH with projectable frame, hits from a balanced stance, mid-length stride, barrel gets on plane and stays in the zone, generates well above average bat speed with good hand quickness, has good feel for the barrel and shows projectable power for age. Average hands and footwork around the first base bag, short high-3/4 release with average arm strength for age, accurate throws. Wilhoite has the potential to develop into a consistent power threat at the plate, especially as he continues to add strength to his frame.

2/7/20:A Kentucky native standing 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds, Willhoite quickly passes the eye test. At the plate he’s aggressive and doesn’t get cheated with a loose swing and plenty of bat speed. He hit the game-winning sac fly in the bottom of the 9th to lift the Indians overSan Jacinto, 1-0. Although his defense at the hot corner is a work in progress, his bat and power potential are his carrying tools.
