Dwayne (DJ) Primeaux: LHP/OF, (2022) Central, LA. 5-foot-10, 175-pound solid frame. On the mound, had a long arm action and a angle with quick arm speed. He is a drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Balance point is a tall during delivery. Lands open. His fastball sat 84-85 mph. Can keep hitters off balance when he located his changeup (77-78 mph) low in the zone. His slider (72-75) had sweeping action and consistent command.
Athletic 6-foot, 165-pound frame, strong build, room to add strength. Athletic, slightly rotational delivery, short arm action into high- release, quick arm speed, minimal effort, hides release point well with strong front side, and creates deception. Pitched 82-84 mph with fastball, showed slight arm-side run, strike thrower, uses both sides of plate. Showed solid feel for breaking ball, tight rotation with solid 2/8 shape at 69-72 mph, steals strikes and creates soft contact with it, not a true swing-and-miss pitch at this stage yet. Showed advanced feel for changeup at 76-79 mph, maintained fastball arm speed, consistent slot, deceptive with late fade action, induced bad swings and weak contact.
