Week 7 of the Louisiana High School Baseball Season is complete.  Familiar faces continued to shine and newcomers also began to make a name for themselves.  Below, we highlight our Mizuno Baseball Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week from week seven of the season (04/04/22-04/10/22).

We will follow up tomorrow with our 7th week edition of "Diamond Notes", where we take a look at some of the other top performances from around the state. Please note, that all of the below performances are submitted by high school coaches.  To submit your player(s) for next week's edition of Diamond Notes, please email Alex Armand ([email protected]) with the player's name, class, position, and any relevant statistics from the week.  We are fired up for what's in store in Week 8 and the rest of the season!

Player of the Week

-2022 Jackson Ford (Holy Savior Menard HS)

If you're a college program and look for an uncommitted senior outfielder, you may want to look no further than Jackson Ford.  The left-handed hitter had a monster week at the plate for the Eagles, hitting in the lead-off spot.  Ford collected eleven hits in thirteen at-bats (.846 AVG), with one homerun, three doubles, one triple, eight runs scored, three runs batted in, and three stolen bases.

Pitcher of the Week

-2022 D.J. Primeaux (Central BR HS)

Primeaux has been having a stellar senior campaign and came through big for the Wildcats again this weekend.  The LSU signee matched up against district rival Walker HS and turned in a brilliant performance on the mound, as he tossed a complete game three hit shutout, with seven strikeouts.  He also hit two homeruns and a triple, as Central defeated Walker by a score of 10-0.
