FB: 90-94 mph SL: 83-86 (2800-2985) *36 Pitches (27 S | 9 B) Anderson is another guy that has definitely added some physicality from last season, but there’s still projection left. He ended up tossing 2 innings and gave up 2 ER on 2 H with 0 BB and 2 K’s. He struck out two in his first inning, before giving up back-to-back hits in his 2 nd inning (single through the 4-hole and a double). Anderson then induced a weak groundball to SS, which scored the first run for the Cajuns and a weak groundball to 1 st base for the second run to score. Beyond the stat line, Anderson looked great, especially because he flashed a 83-86 mph SL that looked like a potential wipe out, swing & miss offering.
3/04/22

The LSU commit has been the state's top ranked player in the 2023 class, since he first stepped foot on campus over two years ago.  Anderson again turned in an outstanding performance on opening night against Catholic BR HS, to only solidify his top spot even more. In the first inning, he came out at 90-92 mph with his fastball, topping out at 93 mph, which is the best that we've seen out of the southpaw.  Not only was the velocity up a tick, but his command was there as well, as he was able to locate in, out, up, and down.  He flashed a true "12-6" curveball at 73-77 mph for strikes and swing and miss, as well as a 77-80 mph fading change up to right-handed hitters.  Anderson finished his 5 IP with 8 K's and 0 ER.

Louisiana State recruit. Lean 6-foot, 160-pound frame, athletic build, room to add strength. Premium left-handed arm, has shined on the national stage. Clean, athletic delivery, repeats well, fluid rhythm throughout, advanced for his age. Medium, clean arm action into high-3/4 release, quick arm speed with little effort. Strike thrower, commands the fastball to both sides of the plate, shows feel to pitch. Pitches low-to-mid 80’s with the fastball, touching 87 mph with arm side life in the zone. Breaking ball shows tight spin, solid 1/7 shape with depth and late break. Advanced feel for changeup with fastball arm speed, deception, and late fading action with depth at 76-78 mph.
