Caleb Allen: SS/RHP, (2024) Oakmont Regional, MA. 5-foot-10, 150-pound. In the box, Allen had a max exit velocity of 82 mph. (66.0 mph bat speed average). (22.1 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced tall stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride. Has a simple flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, his best throw was recorded at 80 mph; had smooth consistent footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Used a short quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. On the mound, uses a quick arm action with a high ¾ arm angle. Shows easy effort in his delivery. Showed consistent balance point with in line shoulders. Lands square with an athletic finish. Allen hits out of a narrow, balanced stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. A small leg kick triggers a swing that takes a flat path through the hitting zone. He finishes through contact and uses the middle of the field. In the infield, Allen was up to 83 MPH on his throws across the diamond. As he worked through the ground balls, he showed he had consistent footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Allen also ran a 7.62 in the 60. On the mound, Allen uses an up-tempo delivery with good direction. He gets into a good balance point at the top, separates well and gets in line as he heads down the mound. Started in a tall open stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride. Bat speed is some, has a simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact . Gap to gap approach. Projectable while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 78 mph; has a clean exchange, athletic fluid feet, and soft consistent hands. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a ¾ slot and a loose arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag. Projectable on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action while showing quick arm speed. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. In his delivery his balance point is tall with in line shoulders. Lands square with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 78-79 mph; had control in the zone and tilt. His 12/6 curveball (62-63) has tight action and consistent command. Shows control low in the zone and hard action on his tight slider (69-70).

Defense:  (IF) Soft consistent hands, athletic fluid footwork, clean exchange. Projectable.  Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. 

Arm: 78 mph infield velocity. Loose arm action, ¾ slot, consistent accuracy. 

Pitching: Projectable. Feel delivery, some effort. High ¾ arm angle, quick arm speed, long arm action. Consistent balance point, in line shoulders, lands square, a clean finish.

FB: T79. 78-79 mph. (Max spin 2062;  Avg 1943). In the zone accuracy, tilt. 

CB: 62-63 mph. Consistent control, tight action, 12/6 shape. 

SL: 69-70 mph. Low in the zone command, hard action, tight movement.
