6/28/18

6-foot-3, 225-pound right-hander who has made a significant jump in stuff and velocity. The fastball touched 86 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is excellent, small in shape, 73-75 mph, certainly an out pitch in high school. The changeup is a work in progress. The delivery is quick in tempo, the arm is slightly above ¾ and works freely. The arm speed is good. The glove side has action to it, comes across the hitters face, stretching him out at foot strike. The lift is athletic, forward lean with the front hip as he makes his way into foot strike. Recoil as he releases the ball. Big follow in the 2020 class

2/18/17

6-foot-2, 225 pounds, extremely large, durable with a wide athletic pitcher’s frame. Right-handed pitcher, the delivery is simple, hands have timing and tempo to them. They start high and work down with his rockers step and move back up with his leg raise. He gets to a good gather position, separates on time and the direction is inline to home plate. Arm action is clean, has average length to it and the ball comes out of a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Fastball was 77-80 mph, it’s heavy with life to it. Secondary pitches are advanced, changeup was clocked at 68-71 mph, came out of the same slot, showed fade and action to it, don’t slow the back side down. Breaking ball was clocked at 62-64 mph, but the shape and spin are correct. Times to the plate are 1.35, the back side lower half could stay stronger throughout. Big time pitching prospect, look for the velocity to jump. Get out and see him early and often.

2018 FUTURE GAMES
6-foot-3, 225-pound right-handed pitcher. Threw the ball well at the event. The slot is above ¾ and the arm works freely. The glove side is wide at release as he comes across his body with it. The front shoulder can be tracked longer to the plate to maximize extension to the plate. The lift is athletic and good in tempo. 1.1 to the plate in the stretch. The fastball sat 83-85 mph, minimal arm side run to the ball. The spin pitch is slurvy, could be shortened to a slider, sat at 69-74 mph. The changeup is a work in progress, sitting at 73-75 mph. The frame is thick and durable, this guy is going to be a monster down the road. Big follow.
