New England Procase

6-foot-1, 210-pound, strong, durable athletic frame. Shows to have strength throughout, big bodied pitcher. A right-hander, using more of a hybrid delivery, quick athletic leg kick, higher hand gather, direction is in line. The arm path has average length to it, working out of a natural 3/4 slot, minimal pull to front side. The fastball has arm side run to it, clocked at 81-83 mph. The breaking ball showed proper spin and shape to it, clocked at 66-70 mph. The changeup came out of the hand looking like a fastball clocked at 73-75 mph. A strike thrower, look for him to continue moving in the correct direction.

The 6-foot-1, 210 pound left-handed hitting first baseman had a tee exit velocity of 88 mph.  The stance is athletic and he stays balanced throughout the swing.  The bat path is quick and direct through contact.  There’s a nice fluidity with his swing that produces a lot of consistent hard contact.Defensivey at 1st base, the feet are athletic.  He moves well laterally and gets into good fielding position.  The glove is soft and he transitions well into the throwing position.  The arm was 73 mph across the diamond.  He also ran a 8.0 sixty at the event. On the mound, he uses simple mechanics to stay balanced and in line. His arm is quick out of a ¾ slot.  The fastball sat 80-82 mph with late arm side run to both sides of the plate.  His slider is a good pitch!  The spin is tight and sat 67-69 mph.  The change-up had good action at 72-73 mph. This is a guy to get out and see. The bat is a serious tool and he can pick it over at 1st.  I also like the potential on the mound.  The fastball has depth and his slider is a good secondary pitch.

FUTURE GAMES
6-foot-1, 210-pound left-handed hitting first baseman. Ran a 8.1 sixty at the event. The feel around the bag is very good, reliable at the position immediately at the next level. Threw 79 mph across the diamond out of a clean arm path. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 90 mph. The stance is athletic, front foot steps into the swing, but is more under control than in the past. The path is flat to contact. The hands work well. I like the bat, feel he just needs at bats and he will figure it out. Going to have to play first base at the next level positionally.

6-foot-1, 200-pound left-handed hitting corner infielder and right-handed pitcher. Defensively, threw 79 mph across the diamond as the approach to the ball is clean and appropriate. The hands work well and he can throw. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 87 mph as he continues to improve. The setup is wide in base, gets to the front foot but is staying in his legs better than I have previously seen him do. The path is clean and he hits the ball hard. I like the potential of the bat. On the mound, the fastball touched 80 mph, minimal arm side run. He pounded the strike zone with his fastball. Threw a bigger breaking ball in the low 60’s and a harder cutter, as he called it, that was upper 60’. The changeup is a solid pitch for him, threw it at 71 mph with fade. The delivery is online with the feet and he leads with the front hip. The tracking of the front shoulder can stay online longer as it will help improve his extension. The slot is slightly above ¾ and works efficiently.

Threw 77 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 82 mph. The setup is wide in base, uses a knee to knee approach on the bottom half. The path has improve, flat through the zone, much stronger in position. The hands work freely. On the mound, the fastball touched 80 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is big in shape, needs more fastball hand speed to the pitch. The pitch sat at 64 mph. The changeup is 71-72 mph, and showed good fade to the pitch. The delivery is online with the feet, above 3/4 in slot. The tracking of the front shoulder needs to improve as he comes off target to soon. The glove has pull to it. The arm works clean and he is aggressive in approach.

6-foot-1, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Only pitched at the event and is progressing nicely on the mound. The fastball touched 80 mph, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 64-65 mph, needs additional fastball hand speed to the pitch. The changeup is his best offering, sat at 67-68 mph, fade and action to the pitch. The delivery is quick in tempo, slightly above ¾ in slot and online. The arm works free, controls the glove side and the tracking is appropriate. His best days are in front of him, needs to continue to develop, as he is trending up.

3/04/18

6-foot, 190-pound right-handed pitcher and left-handed hitting infielder. Excellent all-around looking player. On the mound, the fastball touched 79 mph, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch needs more fastball hand speed to it, sits at 58 mph. The changeup is developing nicely, sits at 68 mph. The delivery is quick in tempo, the slot is slightly above ¾. The lift is repeated, online and he tracks the front shoulder properly. The glove is tucked as he makes his way into foot strike. Defensively, threw 76 mph across the diamond, the feet work and the glove is solid. He moves athletically around the field, could play third or first in the future. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 87 mph, as the hands work well. Sets up even with his feet, small forward lean and front foot dives in a little. The path is flat to contact, hard contact through the ball. Uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as he makes his way into foot strike.

5-foot-11, 175-pound left-handed hitting corner infielder and right-handed pitcher. On the mound, the fastball touched 77 mph with arm side run and action to it. The spin pitch is 65-67 mph with a very good shape to it. The changeup shows the correct spin to it, sits at 67-68 mph. The delivery is online with his feet, and comes at the hitter slightly above ¾ . The tracking of the front shoulder is excellent and it puts his feet on time with the ball hand. The ability to pound the zone is there and he has feet for pitching. Positionally, threw 72 mph across the diamond from first base. The feet and glove are above average at first base. He has a good handle on playing first base. Ran a 4.9 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. Starts the swing with his feet even, front foot slightly. The path is simple and he gets the barrel there. Making sure to stay in his legs is imperative as he gets to his front foot at times. Uses his hands very well and they work nicely.

5-foot-9, 155-pound left-handed hitting infielder who also jumped on the bump. In the infield, showed an advanced glove and footwork to and through the ball. The arm has plenty of life to it, threw 67 mph across the diamond with ease. The bat is very stable and I like the direction is headed. The tee exit velocity is 76 mph. Starts with wide base and hits off his front foot. The path is direct and flat to the ball, as the swing is fluid through the ball. Good looking positional player. On the mound, showed a ¾ arm slot, compact and direct delivery. The fastball was 74 with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is big, needs more fastball hand speed to it, sat at 60 mph. The changeup spins correctly, sitting at 63 mph. Good looking young prospect to follow.
