7/01/20

6-foot-1, 180-pound, strong physical athletic frame. Broad shoulders/chest, with a wider back, already filling out. A right-handed hitting catcher, had a pop time of 1.94-2.06, arm was clocked at 74 mph. The transfer is quick, feet replace each other, closing down the front side. The arm action is clean on the back, tick long at times, working with easy effort and is fast. At the plate, even feet at shoulder width, gains ground with controlled lower half. The hands are back on foot strike, swing is level to up, hands inside the baseball, with an advanced approach. The exit velocity was at 89 mph and ran a 7.62 sixty-yard dash. Shows to have strength behind the plate.

6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. He showed well at the event as his game keeps improving. The skill set behind the dish is solid, he threw 72 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.08. The footwork during the transfer need to be smoothed out as the arm has plenty of strength to it. The receiving is solid and he secures the catch. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 95 mph. The setup is athletic in base and the bottom half is under control. The swing path has length to it as he is strong and long. The bat speed and the looseness of the hands are present.

Dennis is a strong, athletic 6-foot-1, 180 pound prospect.  The right-handed hitting catcher showed his physicality early with a tee exit velocity of 90 mph.  He begins out of a narrow set up, with the hands relaxed off the back shoulder. The load is a slow transfer of the weight to the back side and a simple stride.  As the stride foot lands, he is in a strong position to hit. The bat-path is on a quick, direct line to and through the hitting zone. During this event, his batting practice was loud and showed gap to gap juice.

Behind the plate, he showed a quick transfer and solid feet.  The stance is balanced with the glove set in the middle of the chest.  As he transfers to the throw, the feet replace but the hips drift toward third base.  The glove to hand transfer is very good, allowing the arm-swing to be quick. During this event he had pop times of 1.93-1.97 seconds and a velocity of 70 mph.

I like his athleticism on both sides of the ball.  Behind the plate he receives well, the feet are light and the arm plays.  The bat is already a plus tool. He has quick hands and shows pop gap to gap.

I liked the potential of this 6-foot, 180 pound right-handed hitting catcher and first baseman.  He had an eye opening 86 mph tee exit velocity.  During the BP, the swing was balanced and fluid, producing a lot of hard contact.  The hands work well to and through the ball, plenty of potential as he matures in age. Behind the plate, he showed well.  The feet move well and the glove to hand transfer is solid. The arm strength showed 72 mph(2.1 pop time) down to second base. Defensively at first base, his feet move appropriately.  He moves well laterally and the glove is soft.  The arm also showed well at 74 mph across the infield.  He also ran a 7.6 sixty at the event. This is a guy that coaches need to get out and see.  He has the ability to be a versatile defender and a force at the plate.

6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Continues to improve as he matures, frame is starting to fill out as well. Ran a 7.72 sixty at the event. The skill set behind the dish is solid, threw 66 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.15. The receiving is improving as he ages, securing the catch and softening the glove is trending up. The tee exit velocity is 89 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot open to start. The front foot steps to the ball as it approaches. The path is long, needs to be flattened to improve contact point. The finish is low. The hands work well and he is strong to the ball.

2/10/19

6-foot, 180 pound right handed hitting infielder.  Threw 68 mph ( 2.03 pop time) from behind the plate.  The stance is closed and balanced.  The feet move well into the throwing position. The glove exchange is good.  The arm swing is short and in line. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 76 mph.  The set up begins tall and open.  Gets back to square during the take away.  The bat path is flat through the zone and produced a lot of hard line drives.  Good looking young player on both sides of the ball.  The hit tool has a chance.

JUNIOR FUTURES
5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher and pitcher. Ran a 8.36 sixty on the laser at the event. The glove is solid behind the dish and he moves athletically. The pop time is 2.18 as the feet and quickening the transfer will improve as he matures. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. The setup is even in base, pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. He does get to the front foot to soon, needs to stay in his legs. The path is slightly uphill but the hands work free and clean. On the mound, the fastball sat at 70-71 mph. The spin pitch is 62-64 mph, big in shape. The changeup is 64-66 mph. The delivery is online with the feet, above 3/4 in slot. The lift is methodical and the direction to the plate is solid. The glove side is soft and he stays with his arm.
