A controlled load moves the weight over the back leg before the hands take the bat on an uphill path through the hitting zone. He finishes through contact, showing the ability to spray the ball gap to gap. In the infield, Blake had a velocity of 78 MPH on his throws across the infield. As he took ground balls, his sure hands, smooth footwork, and a clean exchange were on display. He finishes through the play nicely, using a low ¾ arm slot to get the ball across the diamond. Blake also recorded a 60 time of 7.81. On the mound, Blake has a quick delivery to the plate. He gets to a good position at the top before heading toward home plate. At times he can get long with the stride, causing the arm to drag a bit. Otherwise, the arm is quick out of a lower ¾ slot. His fastball has late arm side run at 75-78 MPH. The breaking ball (63-65 MPH) shows good shape.

Blake hits out of a tall, open stance with the hands set just off the back shoulder. A small leg kick starts a swing that takes a flat path through the hitting zone. In the infield, Blake was 77 MPH on his throws across the diamond. As he worked through the ground balls he showed athletic feet, sure hands, and a clean exchange. He moves well laterally and uses a ¾ slo to work the ball across the diamond. Blake also recorded a 60 time of 7.7 at the event. On the mound, Blake showed real arm talent. He threw out of a short ¾ arm slot that produced a heavy, sinking fastball that sits 79-80 MPH. The delivery is easy and fluid. He gets balanced at the top and finishes over the front leg. Blake also mixed in a good changeup (74-75 MPH) with late sink and a sharp slider (70-73 MPH).

Blake is a 5-foot-7, 135 pound left-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of a slightly open, balanced set up, with the hands relaxed off the back shoulder. He uses a knee slide to get back to square and stack the weight over the back leg. The swing path is direct, to and through the hitting zone, producing a lot of line drives. During the batting practice he showed he can spray balls gap to gap with a max exit velocity of 86.7 MPH. 

Defensively, Blake moves well around the bag at first base, with a velocity of 70 MPH on his throws across the diamond. The feet are light as he works to get into a balanced fielding position. He showed soft hands working through ground balls. The arm swing is fluid and he finishes through the play in line with the target. He also ran an 8.1 second sixty.

On the mound is where Blake really stood out. The young left-hander worked solely out of the stretch, allowing him to get balanced over the rubber. As he works down the mound he stays over his feet and uses a higher ¾ arm slot that produced a heavy fastball that sat 73-75 MPH. He also showed a tight breaking pitch at 61-63 MPH and a change up at 65 MPH with good action.

Miles is a talented young prospect. He showed good actions around first base, the swing is balanced, with a good path and there is definite arm talent on the mound. This is a guy to get out and see!

5-foot-9, 145-pound left-handed pitcher and left-handed hitting first baseman. He ran a 8.15 sixty at the at event. The approach at first base is solid, the feet can continue to improve as he matures in age. The glove is solid and he threw 71 mph from first base across the diamond to third base at the workout. The bat has an exit velocity of 78 mph. The setup is open in base and the front foot dives into the plate as the swing is produced. The path is in and out of the hitting zone. On the mound, the fastball sat 72-73 mph. The slider was 63-65 mph and he showed a cutter at 71-72 mph. The changeup was 66-68 mph. The delivery has crossfire to the feet and the slot is above 3/4. The lift is methodical and the tempo is slow. The lift is repeated and he spins the front side off of  the targeted as he goes into foot strike.
