Patrick Kostiw: SS/2B, (2022) Sutton, MA. 5-foot-11, 175-pound lean build. Athletic in the box, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 82 mph. (71.02 mph bat speed average). (21.44 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is quick, shows an uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up some balls with loud contact. Line drive approach. Capable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 72 mph; has a clean exchange, sure hands, and consistent feet. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 8.0.  (Max spin ; Avg ).

Hit: (LHH) Athletic. Starts in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a controlled stride. Quick bat speed. Good extension on his finish, uphill swing. Line drive approach. 

Power: 82 mph exit velocity, average 78.59 mph. 71.02 mph bat speed average. 21.44 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (IF) Sure hands, consistent footwork, clean exchange. Capable.  Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were developing. 

Arm: 72 mph infield velocity. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy. 

Speed: 8.00 (60-yard).

Kostiw is a 5-foot-11, 150 pound left-handed hitting infield prospect. He hits out of an even set up, with the hands set just off the back shoulder. The load is quick and he uses a flat stroke to hit a lot of line drives that registered an exit velocity of 86.2 MPH. During the batting practice Kostiw showed the ability to hit a lot of gap to gap line drives. He also ran a 7.59 second sixty.

Defensively, the middle infielder showed athletic actions. The feet are light and he moves well laterally. He breaks down well behind the ground ball, with the glove in a good position. As he transitions through the ground ball, he gets into a direct line with the target and has a short arm swing. He finished through the play and showed a velocity of 70 MPH across the diamond.

Kostiw is a good looking prospect. The actions in the middle of the diamond are athletic and his simple.

5-foot-10, 150-pound, thin athletic frame, with room for added weight. Defensively, shows solid actions moving well to both sides. Works low to the ground, fields out front and keeps feet moving. The arm works out of a higher slot, clocked at 68 mph, accurate throws. Starts and feeds were performed correctly. Offensively, hits from the left side, feet are even, hands are relaxed. The lower half is under control, minimal pick up and put down, could lengthen stride. The swing path is down to level, approach more line drive to middle of the field. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 79 mph and ran a 7.59. Strength is needed, solid mechanics.

5-foot-10, 138 pounds, slim frame with average athletic proportions. Ran a 7.89 sixty yard dash. A left-handed hitter, sets up in a closed, balanced stance. His hands start up by the shoulders before rocking down and back. Bigger leg kick, rotating through contact with nice hip rotation and a one hand finish. Level bat path geared towards a line drive approach to all fields. His tee exit velocity was measured at 68 MPH. Will need to prove the hit tool in game as there are a number of moving parts in the swing that could get exposed against velocity. Working out as a shortstop, Kostiw’s throws across the diamond were clocked up to 65 MPH. Works from a natural ¾ slot but showed an ability to change slots. Average actions and lateral movement. Glove can get a little stiff at times. Solid double play turns. Profiles best at second base moving forward.
