Preseason All-State Session I
Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 6’3”, 180 pounds. Long, lanky, athletic, projectable frame.
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of the rubber, into a belt high leg kick. Delivery was mechanically sound. Utilizes a very efficient lower half, and generates solid drive off his back leg. Hides the ball well with a fluid glove separation. Finishes in athletic, fielding position.
Arm Action: LH. Throws downhill out of a mid to high three-quarter arm slot.
FB: T84 mph, 81-84 mph. Evident arm-side run out of his hand.
CB: 68-72 mph. More gradual, 12/6 shape.
CH: 71-73 mph. Thrown at near FB arm speed.
MD Top Prospect Games II
Long, lanky body type and projectable 6’3’’, 170 pound frame. Controlled, small side-step wind up and high leg kick into a tall, compact balance point. Smooth down-to-out lower half drive off the rubber and long stride. Creates fast arm speed throwing with shorter arm action over the top with light effort. Lands closed to the plate and really gets over front side well with great extension. Falls slightly to third base side in finish. Fastball jumps out of the hand and sat 80-82 mph and touched 83 mph. Breaking ball showed hard 1/7 break at 67-68 mph and change-up sat 71 mph. Worked both sides of the plate and showed good command. Struck out four of the eight hitters faced.
