Maryland Top Prospect Games II
Body: 5’10’’, 195 pounds. Strong upper half, durable frame with a thick lower half.
Hit: RHH. Wide, balanced stance with the hands starting loose at the shoulder; utilized a barrel tip coupled with a stretched lift and replace stride generating a whippy, fluid bat head through a flat path. Could lift on pitches out over the plate creating loft to both gaps during batting practice. Stayed behind the ball and uncoiled on time allowing for solid rotational power in the swing.
Power: 90 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power to the pull side with ready juice when extending.
Arm: RH. C - 74 mph. Quick, high ¾ slot with a short arm circle.
Defense: Pop times ranged 2.00 - 2.12. Replaced feet well and got the back leg in the ground early allowing for quick transfers during pop times. Kept low posture in the lower half and good directional drive with the chest, running the ball to the arm-side on the carry. Adequate receiver out of traditional setup that can be semi-soft with the glove hand at times across the plate.
Run: 8.02 60-yard time.
