Strong, tall, athletic body type. Hits from a tall, balanced stance in the box with a medium-sized knee-to-knee leg kick load. Creates some hand separation and rhythm. Uphill swing path with fast bat speed and some lower half involvement. Currently hitting .375 for the Stags with 6 doubles, 17 RBI's, and 2 homeruns.
PBR Future Games
Powerful physical frame at 6-foot-3, 210-pounds. Hits from a balanced set up at the plate with high hands in a strong should height position. Simple, smooth load with knee turn in a small leg kick to hitting position. Level swing path with fast bat speed and strength. Swings got stronger as his BP round went on. Gap to gap type hitter who showed power to opposite field gap, driving three triples during the Future Games, all to right-center. Handles pitchers well behind the dish and presents big target while being a quiet receiver with loose hips and nice lateral control. Quick feet along with quick exchange behind the dish to a consistent catch and throw. Throws were accurate behind the plate with carry at 75 mph and a pop as low as 2.00. Ran well for a catcher with a 7.24 60-yard dash. One of the few total catching prospects out there with his offensive and defensive ability.
Burroughs is an athletic catching prospect at DeMatha. The 2019 Graduate has been garner interest from some top programs at an early age. He shows athletic ability behind the plate defensively and potential as a hitter offensively.
