Short path to the ball with some extension through contact. Has some bat speed and is a gap-to-gap type hitter. Exit velocity of 84 mph. Nice foundation at the plate that should get better with strength. Sound footwork from the infield. Soft hands with a clean exchange to a short arm action. Throws from a ¾ slot with a velocity of 73 mph.

5.8.15 - +2016 Ian Heffley shows a short swing with some bat speed at the plate.  As he gets his footwork better could be a player to watch.

2.21.15 - Ian Heffley is a 6-foot 150-pound SS/MIF.  He showed raw ability with a clean exchange and played through the ball defensively.  He threw 68 mph across the infield from a ¾ arm slot.  He ran a 7.50 60 yard dash.  Offensively, Heffley showed live hands from a balanced set up.  He displayed gap-to-gap ability with a short swing and an exit velocity of 78 mph.  Heffley has a strong foundation as a player and with growing arm strength and foot speed should be a player to keep an eye on.
