Preseason All-State Session III
Positional Profile: OF/C
Body: 5’10”, 155 pounds. Athletic
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, open stance with a wide base. Medium sized leg kick load and stays short through the ball with a slightly uphill swing path. Explodes on the ball through contact with quick hands, fast bat speed and strong lower half involvement. Gets excellent extension finishing swing hard and finishing with two hands. Maintains great balance throughout. Very nice gap-to-gap approach, squaring up a ton of balls during BP.
Power: 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ball explodes off the bat with power present to the pull side.
Arm: RH. OF - 80 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a high three quarter slot.
Defense: Plays through the ball in the outfield and fields it out in front on the glove hand side. Showed clean exchanges with fundamental footwork.
Run: 4.08 home-to-first time.
MD Preseason All State
5-foot-9, 145-pound athletic frame. Home-1st time was 4.46. Switch hitter, from the left side hits with an athletic slightly open stance. Hands load up into hitting position and small step to stride landing square. Longer swing path getting on plane early with a flat path and a line drive type swing. Hits from the right side with an open athletic stance and hands pre-set back. Strides with a small leg lift landing on line. Lower half showed explosion from the right side and bat seemed stronger and hands faster through the zone while hitting from the right side. Exit velo was 85 mph. Feet were active from the outfield and worked through the throw well. Average arm action with some arm speed throwing from a three-quarter arm slot at 77 mph from the outfield.
MD Freshman Free Showcase
Athletic body type and 5’9’’, 145 pound frame. Switch hitter. Starts from both sides in a balanced, slightly open stance with hands back and barrel flat and parallel to the ground. Rhythmic load with hands and small leg kick into a short stride. Short, compact swing with a slightly uphill path that gets level at times. Nice lower half involvement in swing, quick hands, and showed some bat speed. Stays behind the ball well and recorded an exit velo of 86 mph. Line drive type hitter with occasional pop. Works through the ball well in the outfield with quick footwork and clean exchanges. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarters slot at 78 mph.
