Maryland Preseason All-State Session II
Body: 6’0’’, 165 pounds. Lean, athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Wide, even stance with a slight bend in the knees; athletic setup with rhythm in the hands at near head level. Utilized a quick toe tap stride to unleash the barrel through a flat path into the hitting zone. Displayed a gap to gap approach using the middle of the field mostly during his batting practice round; accrued a 57% line drive rate with solid bat to ball skills (85% on-plane) pointing towards the ability to hit for average. Quick twitchy hands could handle the inner and outer halves with consistency, using one smooth burst to initiate.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power at the moment.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Quick, whippy ¾ slot (v-slot at times). Accurate on the target.
Defense: Really good pace and posture during defensive evaluations, worked on banana routes on rangy plays getting downhill through angles towards the target; had no issues on the transfers, exchanging from a belly button funnel before releasing. Shortstop qualities in place.
Run: 7.36 60-yard time.
Delivery: Slow, front side rocker into a high leg lift at a controlled position before a connected drive outward towards the plate; good lead leg plant allowing for leverage and a strong drive down the mound over the front side. Repeatable delivery with length present on the bump.
Arm Action: RH. Whippy, high ¾ slot.
FB: T85 mph, 83-85 mph. Average spin rate of 1936 rpm. Mostly straight with heaviness into the zone (9.7 IVB on average).
CB: 76-77 mph. Average spin rate of 2013 rpm. Increased depth to it with the ability to manipulate spin on different looks.
Maryland Top Prospect Games II
Body: 5’11’’, 150 pounds. Athletic body type and frame.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, open stance with a short back load and toe-tap to initiate stride. Short to the ball with a compact, level swing and showed quick hands and quick bat speed through the zone. Stays down through contact with good extension and some lower half involvement. Nice gap-to-gap line drive approach.
Power: 84 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Showed some gap pop with more power developing.
Arm: RH. INF - 83 mph. Throws with long arm action from a high three-quarter slot with throws showing carry across the diamond. Showed the ability to throw from multiple slots as needed.
Defense: Sure-handed middle infielder. Rangy, plays with active feet, gets around the ball and works through it with clean actions. Fields the ball out in front funneling quickly to the chest. Smooth actions on the double play feed. With a little more polish will be a high level defender in the middle of the diamond.
Run: 7.54 60-yard time.
