Gavin DeVooght: RHP/1B, (2023) Walled Lake Central, MI. 6-foot-4, 185-pound. Projectable advanced on the mound, showing electric arm speed he had a ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Balance is tall point with a downhill shoulders in his delivery. Lands square with an athletic finish. Sat with his fastball at 88-90 mph; had some action and control down in the zone with heavy hard movement. (Max spin 2198; Avg 1979). Threw a heavy curveball (72-74) with occasional command and gradual action. (Max spin 2186; Avg 2160). Has some action and down in the zone command on his straight changeup (81-82).

Began in a tall stance with a tight compact load, then used a short stride. Bat speed was explosive, showed a simple level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contact . Pull side approach. In the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 86 mph. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.87. On the mound, curveball (71-73 mph), changeup (75-76 mph), slider (75-76 mph).Threw his fastball 84-86 mph with a max of 87 mph;

Hit: (RHH) Begins in a tall stance with a tight compact load, then uses a short stride. Explosive bat speed. Good extension on his finish, simple level swing. Pull side approach. 

Power: 94 mph exit velocity, average 81.61 mph. 65.98 mph bat speed average. 21.36 mph hand speed average.

Arm: 86 mph infield velocity. 

Speed: 7.87 (60-yard).

FB: T87. 84-86 mph. (Max spin 2322;  Avg 2196). 

CB: 71-73 mph. 

CH: 75-76 mph. 

SL: 75-76 mph.

Pitching : On the mound works at a moderate pace arriving to his balance point kicking his leg out and throwing from an over the top arm angle. Powers of the ball out of hand around the zone. Sharp break on his 11/5 curve 60-62 mph. Fastball sat 75-78 mph. 

Hitting: Has an open stance with elevated hands gets his barrel through the zone making hard contact. Likes to pull baseball with hard lines to left field. 

Fielding: In the field and move the light on his feet working towards his target brings the ball into his body well taking a step and throwing 82 mph. 

Pitching: On the mound has a physical frame on the hill. Moves to his balance point swiftly sitting and driving off his back leg. Throws with easy arm action commanding the zone. Shows a good feel for his pitches. Fastball sat 76-78 mph down in the zone with movement. 11/5 break on the curve 61-63 mph. 

Hitting: At the plate has an open stance with elevated hands. Keeps his hands close to his body during his swing showing a short path. Line drive hitter with a long finish.
