Johnny Stepek: SS/2B, (2021) Walled Lake Northern, MI. Madonna University Commit, 5-foot-11, 170-pound. Solid during batting practice, Stepek had an exit velocity of 91 mph. Begins in an open balanced stance with a controlled smooth load, then uses a toe tap. Bat speed was electric, had a short upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Showed his live arm in the infield with position velocities up to 85 mph. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.84.

Hit: (RHH) Began in an open balanced stance with a controlled smooth load, then used a toe tap. Electric bat speed. Good extension on his finish, short upward swing. Gap to gap approach.

Arm: 85 mph infield velocity.
Speed: 6.84 (60-yard).
Fielding: In the OF works around the ball creating a good angle, takes a small hop step and throws with a short arm action. 79 mph. In the inf let the ball come deep into his body showing a longer arm release.
Swing: Simple approach at the plate using an open stance keeping his hands quiet. Has a front leg lift swinging on a level plane. Top of the order hitter who makes consistent contact. 82 mph exit velocity with a wood bat.
Good projectable prospect used his athletic ability at the plate. Starting with a balanced set up, long stride and fluid rhythm made solid contact. Has great advanced actions.
