6/29/16
Nwogu is a 6-foot-3, 220 pound physical specimen that catches eyes as soon as he steps foot on the diamond. Hits from a wide stance using a crouched and hands held in a power position. Uses a leg lift load and very fast hands to crush baseballs. Showed power to all fields with big time power to the pull side. 91 mph exit velocity. Approaches the ball in rhythm and fields clean. Has a raw crow hop with a strong 88 mph OF velocity.

6/23/15
6-foot-3, 215-pound athlete. Slightly open, athletic stance. Gradual toe tap helps create timing through the zone. Level bat path and bat exit velocity of 75 mph. Athletic movements in the outfield and proper glove work when working through the baseball. Max effort on throws helped record an 86 mph arm velocity from the outfield.

2020 DRAFT:After an outstanding freshman campaign in which he slashed .349/.442/.571, Nwogu put together another strong season as a sophomore, leading Michigan with a .435 OBP and .992 OPS. At the plate he has a spread stance and a bit looser setup than last spring. He also has late pitch recognition, but counters with superior hand/eye, gifted hands and great overall strength to go along with very good bat control. At 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, Nwogu is much faster than he looks. He's a plus runner down the line from the right side (4.18) and he stole 16 bases in 18 attempts last spring. Defensively, he is a below average defender with below average arm strength, but his throwing has improved a grade from last spring. He started all four games in center field during opening weekend this spring and was shaky at times with delayed jumps, but did range better compared to last spring when he played left field. Overall, Nwogu is a likely top three round prospect for this June's draft based on his natural athletic abilities, to-date performance with the bat and strong likelihood he will continue to make adjustments. He fits best with a club known for finding hitter, then developing the power such as the Dodgers. But due to his strong career performance, he will be a very attractive option for all analytically inclined clubs.

11/10/19:Nwogu displayed below average arm strength, but it was improved from last spring, ran a 4.24 to first base on a 6-3 groundout and showed his huge hand strength and plus raw power during batting practice, crushing balls well over the left field fence.

5/11/19:A potential top round prospect for the Wolverines in 2020 is DH/OF Jordan Nwogu. After an outstanding freshman campaign in which he slashed .349/.442/.571, Nwogu has put together another strong season, currently leading Michigan with a .477 OBP and 1.077 OPS. At the plate, he has a spread stance and a very stiff setup. However, he has gifted hands and huge strength to go along with good hand/eye and bat control. At 6-foot-4, 235 pounds, Nwogu is also a plus runner down the line from the right side (4.18) and has stolen 14 bases in 16 attempts this spring. (Seifert)
