Matthew Hoover: RHP/SS, (2022) Buchanan, MI. 5-foot-10, 170-pound. Smooth on the mound, showing electric arm speed he used a short arm action with an over-the-top arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows decent effort. Uphill shoulders and a tall balance point. Shows a falling off finish. Sat with his fastball at 83-84 mph with a max of 85 mph; had consistent control and running action with tight movement. Threw a 12/6 curveball (65-68) with occasional command and early action. Had glove side command and late action on his tight slider .

Pitching: Smooth. Drop-and-drive delivery, decent effort. Over-the-top arm angle, electric arm speed, short arm action. Tall balance point, uphill shoulders, a falling off finish.

FB: T85. 83-84 mph. (Max spin 2111;  Avg 2012). Consistent accuracy, running action, tight movement. 

CB: 65-68 mph. Occasional control, early action, 12/6 shape. 

SL: Glove side control, late action, tight movement.

5-foot-10, 165 pound right-hander sat 86-87 during his bullpen session with an average of 2188 RPM. Slider sat 74-77 with 11/5 tilt and an average of 2300+RPM. Shows rhythm with a high balance point in the delivery. Compact arm action, 3/4 slot, quick arm speed. 

Hitting: Sets up with a narrow stance at the plate showing hand motion to gain rhythm. Small toe tap load and fast hands. Produced line drives. Crushed line drives to all fields.
