6/23/15 - Midwest Procase Wiry 6-foot-2, 190-pound catcher with athletic, projectable frame. Defensively, features strong arm (80 mph from the crouch) and quick feet. Pop times ranged between 1.94-2.01 with good carry during the workout. Also showed ability to block and receive during game play. Offensively, hits from a tall, slightly open setup. Above-average bat speed with direct path to baseball. Line drive approach; may acquire more power as he fills into frame. In game play, went 1-for-3 with a line-drive single up the middle and a stolen base. Also ran a 7.53 60. Currently uncommitted.
6/16/15- MN Top Prospect 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.39 runner. Lean athletic frame. Good flexibility behind the dish with solid/avg. receiving skills. Will catch and throw as well as any catcher in the Midwest with above avg. arm; quick release; carry on throws; and extremely accurate to bag. 1.84 pop time with 81 mph arm strength. Mechanical swing. Solid contact. Lacks rhythm at times. Line drive swing plane. Consistent solid contact to gaps with average power. 83 mph exit velocity off tee.
2/28/15- MN Preseason All-State 6-foot-1, 188-pound catcher. Lanky right-handed hitter who ran a 7.68 60. Line drive swing plane. Some length to contact but direct to ball with no wasted movements. Will swing with shoulders at times causing loss of bat speed and power. Slight arm bar and disconnect. Shows decent pop in bat with gap to gap approach. Has flexibility behind the plate and shows ability to receive and block. Very strong arm with clean exchange and release. Stands straight up at times losing direction and momentum to second base. Average accuracy with 79 mph arm strength and 1.97 pop time. Projects well. Has arm strength and will only continue to get better with minor adjustments to mechanics and increased maturity and strength. High Follow with ability to catch and throw; along with bat that will continue to develop.
