7/24/19: Listed as 7-feet, 185 pounds, Koenig looks every bit of it with his slender frame. As the tallest player in the league, he produces a ton of down angle from his high arm slot. He was a 40th round selection of the Milwaukee Brewers out of high school in 2017. Staying from the stretch at all times, Koenig has a simple leg lift and delivery. However, his extremely long limbs provide some obstacles in repeating that motion. As a spot starter and reliever so far in college, he will be stepping into a larger role next year. In the NWL All- Star Game, his fastball sat 86-88 for his two outs that he was asked to get, showing feel for a slurvey breaking ball in the low to mid-70s with a changeup to round out his arsenal. The stuff isn’t eye-popping, but you can’t teach the height and left-handed. Very interesting follow into next year as he continues to physically mature and control his frame. (DeGagne)
