6-foot-4, 185-pound 2-way player. Eckberg is projectable and will contribute as a “true” 2-way player at the college level. Ran a 7.53 60. Shows usable hands and has active feet in field. Arm is accurate and strong across the diamond at 88 mph. Some stiffness to swing; but drove some of the hardest balls at the event. Short finish after contact. 84-86 mph on mound topping out at 87 mph. Shows fastball command and ability to pound strike zone. Curveball and slider put him towards the top of the 2016 class. Excellent feel for secondary with upper echelon spin, depth, and sharp break.
6-foot-4, 170-pound 2-way player with long athletic body who ran a 7.35 60. Shows pop to the gaps. Short to contact. Stays in the middle of field. Will inside out balls the other way. Has leverage in swing and ability to drive baseball. 86 mph exit velocity off tee. Ranges across the infield well. Soft hands and fields down and out front. Feet are exceptional for size. Showed the best accuracy and carry across the infield with 85 mph arm strength. Lean projectable frame on the mound. Simple clean arm action from high ¾ slot. Fastball shows varying cut and sink at 85-87 mph. Slider shows big tilt with sharp break at 73-74 mph. Changeup is firm and thrown for strikes at 81-82 mph. Eckberg has positioned himself as one to the top 2-way players in the state and should draw considerable recruiting interest from major colleges.
