Long-limbed, lean-bodied righty with a loose arm and downhill delivery.  Projection to body and delivery. Strike thrower with near average arm speed. From a high slot, Young topped at 88 mph, mostly sitting 86 with his fastball. Spin rate in the 2,100s. Slower, but effective breaking ball in the upper-60s which he landed for consistent strikes. When combined with an average 2,440 rpm spin rate, bodes well for future improvement.

Young is a long and lean, athletic actions and a projectable frame with more room for growth at 6-foot-6, 180-pounds. Young’s delivery shows an over the top arm slot, arms and legs coming at the hitter, downhill tilt with his shoulders, repeats at a high percentage, quick arm, loose with whip like action, works aggressively down the mound with explosive movements. At the event, fastball is 82-85 mph, jumps out of his hand, thrown for strikes, curveball is 61-66 mph, mostly gradual action, changeup is 74-78 mph, near fastball arm speed.

Young is a 6-foot-6 180-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri's 2021 class.  On the mound, Young comes from a an over the top arm slot, high leg lift, drives with back leg, in line down the mound, keeps shoulders level, has down hill tilt, fastball 83-85 mph, touches 86 mph, high number of strikes, jumps out of hand, sharp movement on breaking ball, 11-to-5 action, will be a good pitch as he continues to throw, 62-63 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, down in the zone, 74-75 mph.

6/26/18 - 6-foot-5, 165-pound, right-handed pitcher; extremely long-limbed, highly-projectable frame with plenty of room for continued physical development. High-ceiling arm, should be a high-follow in the Missouri 2021 class. Given his long-limbs and age, repeats delivery well. Delivery works with rhythm, on-line, lands slightly closed. Compact arm action, comes out of a high ¾ window, loose and quick out front. Fastball, thrown for strikes, occasional late life and run at the bottom of the zone, sat 81-83 mph. Curveball is currently best secondary offering; 11/5 to 10/4 shape, sharp action at times, maintains arm speed, 61-67 mph. Changeup, straight action, 72-75 mph. High ceiling 2021 arm.
