8/8/17 - Patton is a 6-foot-3 185-pound right-handed hitting first baseman, right-handed pitcher and outfielder in Missouri’s 2018 class.  He ran a 6.94 60 and a 4.52 home to first.  He has an exit velocity of 91 mph.  At the plate, smooth and accelerated swing, balanced stance, short in line stride, quick bat speed, consistent solid line drives gap to gap, occasional pull side power. At first base, 83 mph positional velo, short over the top release, quick catch and throw, aggressive to the ball, clean exchange, soft hands, mostly accurate throws. In the outfield, 91 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, throws downhill, stays on top of ball, fluid glove to hand transfer, crow hop arm works, athletic, mostly accurate throws. At the plate, athletic set up, smooth rhythm in hands pre-swing, rocks back to load in lower half, swing produced mostly middle to opposite field line drives during batting practice.  In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, loose over the top arm action, plays through the ball with fluid transfer and momentum in footwork, somewhat accurate throws. On the mound, Patton has a controlled delivery with smooth rhythm, over the top release, throws with regular effort and repeats, fastball at 78-82 mph, some flashing arm side run, breaking ball is a 10-to-4 slider, on fastball plane, late action, controllable at 69-72 mph, change up at 76 mph.
