Prep Baseball Report-Missouri/Kansas held the Top Prospect Games - MOKAN on August 8 in Warrensburg, Missouri at the University of Central Missouri.  Nearly 40 players participated from Missouri and Kansas in the 2020, 2019 and 2018 classes.

We have broken down the event position-by-position, taking a look at the left-handed pitchers today.   Players are listed below in alphabetical order.

Player's profiles have been updated with profile pictures, videos and stats from the event. Coaches will have new profiles to add their dashboard on ScoutPlus and players will be able to update information on their profile with ProspectPlus.

Right-Handed Pitchers

Gabriel Combs RHP / Lees Summit , MO / 2018

Combs is a 5-foot-11 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Combs has a high three quarters arm slot, throws with some effort, works in line down the mound, repeats delivery, fastball at 79-81 mph, has command working arm side at times, late run, breaking ball has 11-to-5 action, mostly 60-63 mph.

Wyatt Johnston OF / Paola , KS / 2018

Johnston is a 5-foot-11 185-pound right-handed pitcher Kansas’ 2018 class. Johnston has a high three quarters arm slot, fastball at 74-75 mph, showed command to both sides of the plate, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, late break, throws for strike, simple and repeatable delivery with lean frame and loose arm, accelerates tempo as he gets down the mound, throws on a down hill plane. 

Mason Majors C / Staley, MO / 2018

Majors is a strong bodied 5-foot-10 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Majors has a compact delivery, some rotation in hips at balance point, high three quarters release, short arm circle, throws with some effort, slightly across body, throws strikes with two pitches, fatal at mostly 84-85 mph, straight, breaking has slider shape, 10-to-4, has command, sharp late break, 69-72 mph. 

Gage Norman OF / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2020

Norman is a 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed pitcher Missouri’s 2020 class. Norman threw a high number of strikes with three pitches, long and lean body, accelerates tempo down the mound, long arm circle, lean and projectable, throws slightly across body, fastball at 65-68 mph, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, did produce swing and miss, sharp at times, change up at 60-61 mph, near fastball arm speed, some with late sink.

Bennett Patton OF / Hickman, MO / 2018

Patton is a 6-foot-3 185-pound right-handed pitcher Missouri’s 2018 class. Patton showed ability to locate fastball on both sides of the plate, working the bottom of the zone, fastball at mostly 84-85 mph, touching 87 mph, late running action, sharp 11-to-5 curveball, late action, controllable, over the top arm slot, simple and repeatable delivery, slight rotation at balance point, works in line down the mound, repeats delivery.

Cameron Pudenz RHP / Lees Summit , MO / 2018

Pudenz is a 5-fot-11 160-pound right-handed pitcher Missouri’s 2018 class. Pudenz has an over the top release, quick and loose arm, in line stride, controlled tempo to release point, repeats, fastball showed occasional slight sink, 79-81 mph, throws for a strike, breaking ball comes out of the hand at near fastball arm speed, 11-to-5 action, 68-71 mph, looks to be a good pitch as he continues to delivery, overall has an athletic delivery with projectable arm action and build.

Tyler Purdum RHP / Parkway West, MO / 2020

Purdum is a 6-foot-1 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  Purdue has a controlled leg lift, strides slightly across body, over the top release point, showed command of fastball and curveball, fastball at mostly 80-83 mph, touches 84 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 action 71-76 mph, smooth delivery, strong body, repeats, arm action and build would suggest increases as he continues to develop.

Rylie Rokusek RHP / Holden , MO / 2019

Rokusek is a 6-foot-4 168-pound right-handed pitcher Missouri’s 2019 class. Rokusek has an over the top release, fluid tempo in delivery, consistent in repeating, work in line down the mound, shoulders stay level, fastball works 77-80 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 action, 65-66 mph, gradual late break, lean and long frame, smooth delivery, showed ability to command both pitches. 

Luke Smith RHP / Blue Springs, MO / 2018

Smith is a 6-foot-4 210-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Smith has a quick arm speed, strong frame, compact delivery, no wasted movement, in line down the mound, aggressive tempo, arm works, fastball has late run, 82-85 mph, touched 86 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, downward action, 68-71 mph, sharp and sometimes late, showed feel for both pitches, works fastball to both sides of the plate, throws downhill. 

Noah Steele 1B / Shawnee Mission East, KS / 2019

Steele is a 6-foot-5 254 -pound right-handed pitcher Missouri’s 2019 class. Steele has a large frame, athletic delivery, slight rotation at top of release point, hides ball well, comes out of ear, downhill, in line stride, throws with some effort, fastball worked mostly 80-83 mph, some with late run, breaking ball has late break, 11-to-5 shape, 71-74 mph, settled in later in inning with high percentage of strikes.

Treven Veltman C / Wichita West, KS / 2018

Veltman is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Veltman threw three pitches in the zone for a strike, challenged hitters with fastball, 79-81 mph, late running action, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, works down in the zone, gradual brake, 66-69 mph, change up has late sink, throws with near fastball arm speed, 68-70 mph, throw with regular effort, over the top release, projectable frame, arm works, simple and repeatable delivery.

Carson Whiteside RHP / Fort Zumwalt West, MO / 2019

Whiteside is a strong 6-foot 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class.  Whiteside has an over the top release, controlled leg lift, accelerates down the mound, hands raise with leg lift, some rotation at balance point, works in line down the mound, some pitches with downhill tilt, fastball 77-79 mph, cutting action, 11-to-5 shape, occasional sharp and late break, mostly at 68-71 mph.
