6/27/17 - Veltman is a 6-foot 170-pound right handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.61 laser timed 60 and a 4.50 home-to-first. During batting practice he sprayed line drives, shows a tall stance, simple load, flat barrel path and an exit velo of 85 mph. Defensively, Veltman has a quick arm and release, controls body well, positional velo of 77 mph and pop times ranged between 2.00-2.12 seconds. On the mound, Veltman has a repeatable delivery, commands both sides the plate with his fastball which showed occasional cut and was 80-82 mph. He threw his changeup at 70 mph with near fastball arm speed and showed a sharp breaking ball with 11-5 type action. Veltman showed clean arm action and works downhill.

On the mound, Veltman is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Veltman comes from an over the top release, controlled delivery throwing with some effort, in line down the mound, fastball at 79-80 mph, sharp 11-to-5 breaking ball, down in the zone, late action, change up at 67-68 mph, near fastball arm speed.
