Eftink

Eftink has a strong and stalky build at 6-foot, 195 pounds and is a left-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.35 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 98 mph. During batting practice, Eftink starts open, smooth knee pinch into load, quiet hands, in line stride, loose hands, feel for the barrel, level bat path, showed hard contact and pop throughout round. Behind the plate, athletic and strong build, quick transfer to throw, momentum towards target, throws ball with carry at 78 mph, accurate throws, pop times between 2.01 and 2.08. On the mound, Eftink works from the stretch only, aggressive down the mound, long arm action from a high three-quarter release, some effort in delivery, downhill tilt, repeats, fastball is 87-89 mph, strikes at the top of the zone, curveball is 78-79, gradual action, 11-to-5 shape, change up is thrown for strikes at 77-79 mph, near fastball arm speed.

8/4/18 - Eftink has a strong build checking in at 6-foot 190-pounds.  The lefty-hitter starts with an open stance, and has a slight rotation in hips and hands to load, he has a level path through contact with swing that creates pull side line drives.  He had an exit velocity of 84 mph and ran a 7.27 60. In the outfield, Eftink posted an 83 mph positional velocity.  He has fluid footwork to the ball and a clean catch and throw.  His arm works from a high three quarters arm slot. On the mound, Eftink worked a scoreless seventh inning.  He had late two-seam action on his fastball working from a high three quarters arm slot.  His fastball worked mostly 83-85 mph, touching 86 mph.  He showed an above average slider at 69-72 mph, with late and sharp 11-to-5 action.  His change up worked at 76 mph with slight arm side release.

6/12/18 - Eftink is a physical 6-foot 190-pound left-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.40 60 and a 4.47 home to first.  He has a 92 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with open stance, slight pre pitch rhyme in hands, controlled leg lift with in line stride, level path, showed power to pull side, stays balanced and under control.  Behind the plate, pop times 2.02-2.22-seconds, 74 mph positional velocity, short over the top arm slot, wide set up in base, clean exchange, moves will to block keeping ball in front, mostly accurate throws. In the outfield, 81 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, gains momentum with feet after the catch, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Eftink is a strong-bodied 6-foot 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. Eftink  touched 84 mph with his fastball, and worked mostly 81-83 mph, over the top release, body stays under control through the delivery,  works downhill, breaking ball at 65-70 mph, 11-to-5 shape, occasionally sharp, change up has slight sink, 61-62 mph,  throws with fastball tempo and arm speed.

2/10/18 - Eftink is a 6-foot 190-pound left-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.45 60 and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, some hip rotation to load, level path through the zone, hard contact to the middle and pull side, flashing pull side power.  Behind the plate, 76 mph positional velocity, 2.15 to 2.38-seconds, square set up in feet, over the top release, fluid glove to hand exchange on time with feet. On the mound, Eftink has a well built frame, keeps arm high during take away, accelerates and works in line down the mound, fastball worked 80-85 mph, some with late life and running action, throw for strike, 10-to-4 shaped breaking ball, 74-75 mph, late break, throws for a strike, change up as some arm side run, down in zone, 72-74 mph.

2/20/17 - Eftnik is a 6-foot 180-pound left-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 5.02 home to first and has a 75 mph exit velo. At the plate, starts open, lands square, some load in hands, hands control the bat, level path, swing produced mostly hard pull side line drives.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.12 and 2.40-seconds, 74 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, thin set up in feet, fluid glove to hand exchange, soft hands, somewhat accurate throws. On the mound, Eftink comes from a high three quarters arm slot, hands raise with left lift, coil at balance point, has high command of fastball, all thrown for a strike, some with late run, 73-76 mph, landed a high percentage of breaking balls for a strike, 10-to-4 action, gradual break, near fastball arm speed, change up at 62-64 mph, above average sink, throws with regular effort, repeats delivery.
