Body: 5-10, 193-pounds. Physical build.
Hit: LHH. Upright setup, wide base, weight starts on back side. Rhythmic movement in hands, short leg lift trigger. Short flat path through the zone, some barrels. Power present with high exit velocity. 70.5 mph bat speed with 24 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 100 max exit velocity, averaged 79.8 mph. 354' max distance.
Arm: LH. INF-78 mph. OF-82 mph. Short stroke from a 3/4 slot. Shows feel for a low 3/4 almost sidearm slot.
Defense: Athletic movements defensively.
ATH: 7.31 runner in the 60. 26.50 max vertical.

Well known to our staff, Saturday provided us another look at 1B/OF Cooper Montgomery (St. Dominic, 2026). A highly physical follow from the 2026 class, the 5-foot-11, 193-pound lefty was a standout at the plate, producing a loud round of BP, while consistently driving balls from gap to gap with a peak exit velocity on the day of 99.8 mph. That power transferred over into game play where he proceeded to barrel a stand-up double off of the right center field wall. Additionally, Montgomery showed off his versatility in the field, posting a 82 mph outfield velocity and showing off the athleticism at first base as well.

1B Cooper Montgomery (St. Dominic, 2026) looks the part of a highly physical, true middle-of-the-order left-handed bat in Missouri’s sophomore group. Montgomery repeatedly got off intentful hacks throughout his round, generating big bat speed out of load with real impact. He barreled the day’s loudest batted ball (100.7 mph) and led all those in attendance with the highest average exit velocity mark at 93.7 mph. Montgomery produced that level of impact while consistently elevating the baseball, both on average (274 ft.) and at peak (346 ft.).
