Another Springfield Catholic junior to know is RHP Jack Schoen (2024). Schoen showed well on the mound at this event, working the zone at 83-84 mph with his fastball. He also spun a 73-74 mph fastball with depth at nearly 2400 RPM on average. The 6-foot, 175-pound junior rounded out his arsenal with a firm 80-81 mph changeup that resembled a sinker, spinning at a lower rate on average and averaging 14.8 inches of horizontal movement.
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Well-proportioned frame with physical projection to come.
Delivery: Quick side step begins delivery, works with pace to balance point, strong front side stays closed, tall/fall type pattern. Works in line to target, athletic finish with drift towards first base side. Fluid mover, repeats.
Arm Action: RH. Short compact arm action with looseness and arm speed out front. Finishes from a 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 84-84 mph. Easy out the hand. Plays straight with some arm-side run on occasion. T2032, 2006 average rpm.
CB: 73-74 mph. Raises slot slightly to fastball. 11/5 shape with depth and gradual action, limits horizontal movement. T2395, 2374 average rpm.
CH: 80-81 mph. Firm, sinker-type. Generated nearly 15 inches of horizontal movement on average. T1997, 1876 average rpm.

Hits: RHH. Wide base with bend in the back knee, hands start back and drift at load, barrel tips slightly upward before moving foward, short stride. Long bat path, level through the zone, leverage to the pull-side.

Arm: RH. INF-80 mph.Short loose arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Light feet, comfortable. Stays back on the baseball, two-hand gather, slight glove pack to release.
