Jacob’s throws were mostly accurate and had good carry. The ball comes out of Jacob’s hand very clean. His outfield position velo was 83 MPH. He also had an infield velocity of 76 MPH. Mitchell also had a POP range of 2.01-2.16 at catcher. At the plate, Mitchell has an athletic setup with a smooth load and a short stride. He displayed good bat speed and has great hip rotation. Jacob produces line drives and has pull power. He had an exit velo of 90 MPH.
6/19/13: Mitchell is a solidly built 6-foot-1, 190-pound catcher who has a firm base and receives with soft hands. Mitchell threw pop times in the 2.01-2.16 range (74-75 mph) with some accuracy in his throws. During game play, Mitchell effectively handled numerous pitchers, and showed quick instincts blocking.
