8/9/15 - Needham is a 5-foot-8 190-pound right-handed pitcher and right-handed hitting first baseman in the 2016 class. Needham ran an 8.26 60 and has an exit velo of 76 mph.  At the plate, open stance, controlled leg lift, quick hands, aggressive swing flat through zone.  On the infield, 71 mph positional velo, short high three-quarters release, clean transfer, fluid footwork, accurate throws.  On the mound, Needham located fastball and pitched to contact, got mostly ground ball outs, stayed away from middle of plate, fastball at 72-74 mph, curveball at 64-65 mph,  will drop to a lower arm slot with breaking ball, 12-to-6 action. 69-70 mph change-up. Over-the-top release with fastball, arm works, lands square, repeats release point.

2/21/15 - Needham is a 5-foot-8 190-pound 1B/3B in the 2016 class.  At the plate, Needham has an open stance, controlled leg kick, slight hand load, level path, quick bat, gap-to-gap approach, 79 mph exit velo, 5.19 home-to-first.  On the infield, fielded all balls cleanly, fluid footwork, clean hand-to-glove transfer, accurate throws, firstbase velo of 72 mph. On the mound, Needham’s fastball showed run coming from an over-the-top release at 73-75 mph.  He throws his curveball for a strike with 11-to-5 shape and near fastball arm speed.  Curveball ranges from 64-65 mph, change-up has slight sink at 64-67 mph. He stays in-line down the mound with level shoulders, drop and drive type delivery, quick arm speed.

10/25/14 - Needham is a strong 5-foot-7 200-pound right-handed pitcher. Fastball at 70-74 mph, 11-to-5 curveball at 63-64 mph, sharp break, slider at 62-65, slider is best pitch, good feel, change-up at 62-65 mph, high ¾ delivery, throws with easy effort, very quick rhythm, loose arm action, command of all 4 pitches. On the infield, 72 mph positional velo, quick/clean exchange. At the plate, gap-to-gap approach, 78 mph exit velo, short stride, smooth load, level to extension, squared most balls up, stays balanced through swing, 5.25 home-to-first, 8.31 60 time.
