8/9/15 - Bastarache is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher.  He ran a 7.10 60 and has an exit velo of 78 mph. Athletic set-up at the plate, loads in back leg, separates hands, used middle of field in batting practice. In the outfield, 79 mph positional velo, loose three quarters release, works behind ball and plays through catch, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Bastarache worked his fastball at 78-81 mph, 82 max fastball.  He showed an 11-to-5 breaking ball at 67-69 mph and flashed a slider at 74-75 mph with late action. Change-up at 73 mph with arm side release. Conventional delivery with glove raising with knee, clean arm action, able to repeat release point, body under control, throws with regular effort.
