On Sunday, August 9, Prep Baseball Report-Missouri held the Top Prospect Games at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.  Nearly 100 uncommitted players in the 2016 class from Kansas and Missouri attended. 

Player profiles have been update with times, velocities and videos.  Below is a look at the outfielders from the event, and overall physical group of players.  In the days to come, we will break down the outfielders, and pitchers. The outfielders are listed in alphabetical order.  Players rankings will be updated in weeks to come.

Outfielders

John Bastarache, OF, Staley, 2016
Bastarache is a 6-foot 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  He ran a 7.10 60 and has an exit velo of 78 mph. Athletic set-up at the plate, loads in back leg, separates hands, used middle of field in batting practice. In the outfield, 79 mph positional velo, loose three quarters release, works behind ball and plays through catch, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws.

Garrett Bell, OF, Raymore-Peculiar, 2016
Bell is a 5-foot-8 150-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Bell has an exit velo of 73 mph and ran a 6.90 60. Showed some pop to the pull side during batting practice, loads in back leg, short stride, bat path has lift.  In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, athletic actions, quick footwork, plays through ball, quick transfer.

Michael Brown, OF, Camdenton, 2016
Brown is a 6-foot-3 195-pound right-right handed hitting outfielder.  Brown ran a 7.70 60 and had an exit velo of 71 mph.  Starts from a wide base in stance, short stride, arm bar, used middle to pull side of field in batting practice.  72 mph velo from the outfield, over-the-top release, quick footwork, clean exchange.

Rorey Combs, OF, Truman, 2016
Combs is a 5-foot-9 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Combs runs a 6.92 60, one of the top times for the event and has an exit velo of 91 mph, top LHH exit velo for the event. Athletic stance at the plate, short stride, some hand load, level path to extension, aggressive swing, consistent contact to middle/pull side in batting practice, singled to center and singled to left, stole second base in game action.  In the outfield, 84 mph positional velo, one of top outfield velos for the event, high three quarters release, plays through the ball, quick feet, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws. 

Cole Dunham, OF, Lee’s Summit West, 2016
Dunham is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  He ran a 7.04 60 and has an 82 mph exit velo. Athletic stance, pre-swing rhythm with hands, loads lower half, short stride, consistent line drives to pull gap during batting practice, balanced throughout swing, smashed double to left-center in game action.  In the outfield, 86 mph positional velo, one of the top velos for the event, loose over-the-top release, momentum towards target after catch, clean exchange, throws have carry, on a line, mostly accurate.

Seth Fraley, OF, Sedalia, 2016
Fraley is a 6-foot-1 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Fraley runs a 7.43 60 and has an 82 mph exit velo. Starts in open stance, no wasted movement in load, level path, gap-to-gap approach, loose hands, maintains barrel. In the outfield, 78 mph positional velo, loose arm action, high three-quarters release, crow hop, clean exchange, fluid footwork, throws have carry, mostly accurate.

Colin Farrow, OF, Park Hill South, 2016
Farrow is a 5-foot-9 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Farrow ran a 6.86 60, one of the top times for the event and has an 82 mph exit velo, one of top LHH exit velos for the event. At the plate, balanced set up, short stride, level path, gap-to-gap approach, aggressive base runner, two stolen bases in game action.  In the outfield, 79 mph positional velo, work behind the ball and through catch, high three quarters release, clean exchange, quick footwork. 

Clayton Hale, OF, Shawnee Mission Northwest (KS) 2016
Hale is a 5-foot-10 190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Hale ran a 7.30 60 and has an exit velo of 85 mph. Thin stance at plate, physical hitter, loose hands level path, strong lower half, collected a pair of singles in game action.  In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, loose arm action, over the top release, clean transfer, catches ball in position to throw, throws on a line, mostly accurate throws.

Anthony Hansen, OF, Hickman, 2017
Hansen is a 6-foot 200-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.  Hansen runs a 7.25 60 and has an exit velo of 82 mph. Balanced set-up at the plate, smooth load, balanced throughout swing.  In the outfield, 80 mph positional velo, works behind ball, quick high three-quarters release, plays through ball. 

Justice Hylton, OF, Carl Junction, 2016
Hylton is a 5-foot-10 180-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Hylton ran a 7.25 60 and had an 85 mph exit velo. Starts in a wide stance at the plate, short stride, no wasted movement on load,  line drives gap-to-gap in batting practice.  In the outfield, 76 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, works through catch, momentum towards target, quick footwork, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws.

Tyler James, OF, Lee’s Summit West, 2016
James is a 6-foot 195-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  James ran a 7.25 60 and had an 81 mph exit velo. At the plate, athletic stance, smooth load, level path to extension, showed power to left field in batting practice, consistent solid contact, singled to right side in game action.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, loose arm action, momentum towards target, clean exchange, throws with carry, on line. 

Alonzo Jenkins, OF, University City, 2016
Jenkins is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  He ran a 7.16 60 and had a 79 mph exit velo. Consistent line drives to middle of field during batting practice, smooth load, early front toe, quick hands, level path, stole second base in game action.  In the outfield, 69 mph positional velo, quick footwork, works behind ball, clean exchange, over-the-top release, accurate throws.

Connor Jonas, OF, Fort Osage, 2016
Jonas is a 5-foot-10 170-pound right-handed hitting third baseman.  He ran a 7.65 60 and has an 80 mph exit velo.  Went 1-for-3 in game action with a single.  Tall open stance, toe tap, loose hands, level path, line drives to middle-to-pull during batting practice. In the outfield, high three-quarters release, 85 mph positional velo, loose arm action, plays through ball, accurate throws with carry.

Caleb Jonas, OF, Fort Osage, 2016
Jonas is a 5-foot-9 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher in the 2016 class.  He ran a 7.63 60 and has a 76 mph exit velo.  Balanced set-up at the place, controlled load with lower half, maintains barrel, uses middle of field, tripled to left in game action. In the outfield, 80 mph positional velo, loose over-the-top release, quick catch and throw, throws have carry, on a line, somewhat accurate.

Montel Jones, OF, Raytown, 2016
Jones is a 6-foot-1 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Jones, a quick-twitch athlete posted the top 60 time at 6.56 and had the event’s best exit velo at 92 mph. Physical and athletic with the bat and on defense.  At the plate, starts in athletic position, simple load, no wasted movements, level path, middle to pull approach, power to pull gap.  In the outfield, high-three quarters release, works behind the ball, clean exchange, quick footwork, closing speed on fly balls in game action, quick first step, solid defender. 

Tyler Klicker, OF, Living Word Christian, 2016
Klicker is a 6-foot-4 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  He ran a 7.30 60 and had an 80 mph exit velo. Klicker had a good round of batting practice, using a middle approach, level path, loose hands, minimal load and athletic stance.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, aggressive actions, plays through the catch, clean footwork, clean exchange, projectable build, mostly accurate throws.

Connor Marchand, OF, Liberty, 2016
Merchand is a 5-foot-11 165 –pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Marchand ran a 7.28 60 and had an exit velo of 83 mph. At the plate, linear load in back leg, no hand movement, line drives to the middle of the field during batting practice.  In the outfield, 81 mph positional velo, over-the-top release, fluid footwork, clean transfer, plays through the ball, mostly accurate throws.

Ben Mattes, OF, Liberty North, 2017
Mattes is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.  Mattes ran a 7.10 60 and had an exit velo of 80 mph. Projectable and lean frame, capable of adding muscle as he matures.  At the plate, simple load, controlled leg lift, hits with leverage, level path to extension, singled to center field in game action.  In the outfield, 79 mph positional velo. High three-quarters release, loose arm action, plays through the ball, accurate throws.

Trae McDaniel, OF, Junction City (KS), 2016
McDaniel is a 6-foot-1 205-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2016 class.  He ran a 7.16 60 and had an 83 mph exit velo.  Starts in open stance, smooth load, loose hands, level path, gap-to-gap approach, showed power to both gaps in batting practice, singled to left field in game action.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, 78 mph velo, fluid footwork, clean transfer.

Aaron Meers, OF, Lee’s Summit North, 2016
Meers is a 6-foot-2 190-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Meers ran a 7.53 60 and had an 87 mph exit velo, one of top exit velos for the event. At the plate, balanced set up, toe tap, smooth load, short path to contact, consistent solid contact during batting practice to both gaps, hands work inside ball.  In the outfield, 87 mph positional velo, one of the top velos for the event, long/loose over the top arm slot, plays through ball, clean exchange, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws with carry. 

Mark Melville, OF, Lutheran South, 2016
Melville is a 6-foot-2 200-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Melville ran a 6.85 60, one of the fastest times for the event and has an 88 mph exit velo, one of top LHH exit velos for the event. At the plate, athletic set-up, smooth load, level path, solid contact to middle-pull side during batting practice, aggressive swing, strong hands.  In the outfield, throws right, high three-quarters release, loose arm action, clean exchange, 83 mph positional velo.

Clayton Meyer, OF, Northwest, 2016
Meyer is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in the 2016 class.  Meyer has an 80 mph exit velo and runs a 6.91 60, one of the top times for the event.  Has a middle-to-pull approach at the plate, minimal load with toe tap, long front arm, level path, quick hands.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velo, high three-quarters release, quick footwork, clean transfer, mostly accurate throws.

Channing Mickey, OF, Webb City, 2017
Mickey is a 6-foot-2 210-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.  Mickey ran a 7.38 60 and has a 90 mph exit velo, one of top exit velos for the event. At the plate, Mickey is a strong, physical and aggressive. Athletic stance, leg kick, bat path has some lift, middle to pull approach.  In the outfield, On the infield, 85 mph positional velo, one of the best velos of the event, quick high three-three quarters arm action, plays through ball, momentum towards target, clean exchange, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws. 82 mph positional velo, fluid footwork, clean exchange, high three quarters arm slot.


Christian Ozores, OF, Junction City (KS), 2016
Ozores is a 5-foot-10 190-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2016 class. Ozores ran a 7.20 60 and has an 80 mph exit velo. Open stance at plate, walks away from hands, controlled leg lift, level path, feel for barrel, doubled in game action.  In the outfield, 83 mph positional velo, high three-quarters arm slot, fluid footwork, quick exchange and release, throws have carry on a line.

Tyler Pittman, OF, Blue Springs South, 2016
Pittman is a 5-foot-7 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Pittman ran a 6.92 60, one of the top times for the event and has an 87 mph exit velo, one of top exit velos for the event. Showed power to pull gap in batting practice, used mostly middle pull side, solid contact, strong lower half, open stance, quick/level bat path to extension.  In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, over the top release, loose arm action, catches ball in position to throw, flat throws, mostly accurate.

Chad Reusch, OF, Branson, 2016
Reusch is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  Reusch ran a 7.04 60 and had an 84 mph exit velo. Strong athlete.  At the plate, smooth load in legs, some hand load, level bat path stays on ball, middle to pull approach, power to pull side. In the outfield, 88 mph positional velo, top outfield velo for the event, quick footwork, works behind ball, clean exchange, quick over the top arm action, throws are flat and somewhat accurate

Zach Snodgrass, OF, Carl Junction, 2016
Snodgrass is a 5-foot-9 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Snodgrass ran a 7.13 60 and has an exit velo of 81 mph. At the plate, Snodgrass has an aggressive swing, line drives to pull side mostly, went the other way in game action, balanced stance, leg kick, level path.  In the outfield, loose over-the-top arm action, works behind plays through ball, quick transfer and throw, 84 mph positional velo,  one of top outfield velos for the event, mostly accurate downhill throws.

Brian Sullivan, OF, Olathe South (KS), 2016
Sullivan is a 6-foot-4 215-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Sullivan ran a 7.07 60 and has an 87 mph exit velo. Balanced set-up at the plate, smooth load, no wasted movement, level path, middle approach during batting practice, singled to right and center field in game action.  In the outfield, 85 mph positional velo, one of the top velos for the event, throws right, momentum through catch, over the top release, fluid footwork, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws.

Nate Vossman, OF, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2016
Vossman is a 6-foot-1 200-pound left-handed hitting outfielder.  Vossman ran a 7.12 60 and has an 84 mph exit velo. Physical hitter, good round of batting practice, middle to pull approach, thin and open set up, quick hands, solid contact, power to pull gap.  In the outfield, 80 mph positional velo, over the top release, loose arm action, plays through ball, mostly accurate throws.

Brandon Williams, OF, Jefferson City, 2017
Williams is a 6-foot-3 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in the 2017 class.  Williams ran a 7.14 60 and has an 83 mph exit velo. Open stance, minimal load, level path, power in pull gap, stays on ball after contact.  In the outfield, 82 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork, accurate throws. Build is tall and lean with projection.

Trey Ziegenbein, OF, Blue Springs, 2017
Ziegenbein is a 6-foot-3 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.   Ziegenbein ran a 7.19 60 and has an 84 mph exit velo. Thin/open stance at the plate, level bat path, stays on ball after contact.  In the outfield, 84 mph, one of top outfield velos for the event, easy/loose arm action, fluid transfer, and quick release, throws have carry, accurate.
