10/5/14 - The lefty hitter showed a solid middle approach at the plate, squaring up the ball in several at-bats to center field. Giefer hit third in the order and showed bat speed, stroking an 85 mph fastball to center field for a single, with a 5.06-second time to first on the turn. He showed rhythm and plate discipline, with extension through contact. Defensively, he showed a strong, accurate arm in right field and made an athletic diving catch in foul ground. On the mound, he worked his fastball at 78-80 mph inside to left-handed hitters. Giefer showed a 2-to-8 curveball at 69-71 mph with late break. He worked a quick first inning against the KC Yankess in the championship game of the Johnson County 3&2 tournament. He allowed one run and tallied two strikeouts and a walk in two innings of work.
7/15/14 - Giefer is a 6-foot-0 184-pound left handed hitting 1B/OF. In the outfield, Giefer throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has good carry on the ball. He has a clean hand-to-glove exchange and made mostly accurate throws to his target. On the infield, Giefer displayed good aggressive actions through the ball. He has soft hands and good range at 1B. He had an outfield velo of 82 MPH and an infield velo of 82 MPH. At the plate, Geifer starts with a balanced setup and relaxed hands. He has a short, quick swing with a gap-to-gap approach that can produce power to pull gap. Giefer produces good bat speed and posted an exit velocity of 84 MPH.

Kyle showed a 1-to-7 curveball with sharp break at 69-73 MPH. He throws a 74-75 MPH change-up at near fastball arm speed with some sink. Giefer pounds the strike zone and has good command of all pitches.

He throws a 68 MPH change at near fastball arm speed with some sink.
