11/3/12: The lanky 5-foot-10, 160-pound McCauley showed well in all facets of his game. In the outfield, McCauley showed good footwork and effort to the baseball while playing through the ball with short arm action. He recorded a top throw of 77-mph. Offensively; McCauley has a slightly crouched stance with a short stride. His swing remains level throughout with extension through contact and a one handed finish, hitting the ball gap to gap.
7/18/12: McCauley is an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound player who showed versatility in the outfield and at third base. In the outfield, when he was aggressive to the ball, McCauley showed the ability to get to the ball quickly and show a strong arm (77 mph) with some carry. In the infield, McCauley showed fundamental footwork and sure hands, with accurate 70-73 mph throws across the diamond. At the plate, McCauley has a balanced set up and is short and quick to the baseball. He demonstrated good control, swing looseness, and extension through contact as he sprayed line drives to all fields.
