8/17/14 – Gauspohl is a wiry, athletic 6-foot-0, 155-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery and quick arm speed with loose arm action. Nic throws with regular effort and stays in-line with the target. Gauspohl had a fastball velocity range of 77-82 MPH. His curveball was at 66-70 MPH with 11/5 tilt. Nic also displayed a change-up that ranged from 71-72 with near fastball arm speed.

Nic’s throws were mostly accurate and had good carry. His position velo was 87 MPH. Gauspohl displayed quick fluid feet and is aggressive to the ball. At the plate, Nic has an open setup with a long stride. He uses his lower half well and maintains a level bat path. He produces gap-to-gap line drives with his swing and has some pull power. He had an exit velo of 83 MPH. He had a single to left center in the game.

2/23/14 – Gauspohl is an athletic 6-foot, 150-pound RHP.  Gauspohl sat 79-83 MPH with his fastball and touched 85 MPH, one of the top for the event.  He has a ¾ release and his fastball showed late cut.  Gauspohl has an 11/5 curveball with a sharp break at 71-74 MPH and  a change-up at near fastball arm speed at 73-74 MPH.  He has smooth rhythm during his delivery with loose arm action.  Gauspohl stays in line as he gets down the mound and finishes in an athletic position.

2/23/14 – Gauspohl is a 6-foot, 150-pound outfielder.   Gauspohl has a ¾ slot and an 86 MPH positional velo, and throwing with good accuracy. He is aggressive getting to the ball quick, clean exchange.  Offensively, Gauspohl has a smooth load with a quick bat.  He has a gap-to-gap approach that produces consistent line drives with good backspin.  He has an 85 MPH exit velo, among the top for outfielders at the event,  and runs a 4.10 home-to-first, one of the fastest times for the event.
