North Carolina State commit. Towering 6-foot-11, 215 pounds. Great coordination for a talent of his stature at this young age. Good athlete over the rubber and around the mound. Flooded the zone with three pitches. Fastball sat 84-88, working on-line with an ease arm action and release. Down zone has angle and the fastball plays better than the radar reading, with good extension. Breaking ball at 73-75 sweeps but there is feel and shape to the pitch. Advanced change-up for his age, creating swing and miss with it vs. left and right handed hitters, sitting 75-78. Efficient, attacked the zone, and remained in control of every hitter faced.
06.28.17
Short outing and fastball sat 86. Breaking ball worked to be at least average, creating swing and miss at 73. Stuff plays better vs. hitters than it does on a radar gun. Lots of bad swings and awkward takes.
06.16.17
Long and lanky frame with an athletic presence at 6-foot-10, 195 pounds. Fastball ranged 84-86, with arm side run, and a feel for the strke zone. Control over command. Breaking ball works a bit early with average 11/5 shape at 71-75. Harder breaking balls showed tighter, later tilt. Good feel for a change up at 79. Hand slows minimally, coming from the same window as fastball. Good coordination on the rubber and around the mound. Sinks on back side at balance. Short, strong arm swing works to a high-3/4 slot. Better rhythm in wind-up vs. stretch but is athletic enough to find the delivery quickly.
