Cape Cod: Emerged as UNC's everyday first baseman as a sophomore this spring, hitting .285/.387/.376. At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, he bears a physical resemblance to former Auburn star Sonny DiChiara, but he has yet to hit for power like DiChiara did (Stokely hit just two homers and nine doubles in 186 at-bats this spring, then hit two homers and five doubles in 75 at-bats this summer, but hit just .182). Stokely's biggest strength is his feel for hitting and mature up-the-middle approach, but he needs to prove he can handle plus velocity, and he needs to show more power. Stokely is also a surprisingly nimble defender with soft hands at first base.
UNC commit. Large frame at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds. Some athleticism for his size. Left handed swing finds a lot of barrels. Balanced and tall in the box, works for extension through the ball with a short, direct path. Sees spin and offspeed well for his age. Has the ability to use the whole field, generating exit velocity to each gap. Average feet defensively with average carry on throws from 1B. Did show an ability to manipulate the arm slot as needed.
