Cape Cod: Jenkins-Cowart has done nothing but hit in two seasons at ECU, batting a combined .313/.361/.521. His summer on the Cape was more of a struggle, as he batted .244 with no extra-base hits in 41 at-bats. JJC is wiry strong at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds, and while he already has good in-game power, he projects to add even more as he fills out. He has plenty of pop to his pull side, but he’s willing to use the whole field, and in one look during his short time at Y-D, he scalded line-drive singles the opposite way in consecutive at-bats. He’s a long strider who runs well underway, but his ability to handle center field both at ECU and with Y-D has as much to do with his feel for the position as it does speed and athleticism, and he has more of a corner outfield profile at the next level.
