Merz has a strong/compact frame at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.71 seconds, top exit velo of 88 MPH. Athletic and slightly open stance. Utilizes a bigger leg kick as his timing mechanism. Smooth weight transfer with rhythm in the hands. Creates extension in the back leg. Some whip the barrel, line drives to all fields. Behind the dish, recorded pop times ranging from 2.00-2.19 seconds, top velo of 76 MPH. Makes immediate transfers where he receives, with a prototypical C arm slot.

Merz stands at 5-foot-9, 170-pounds. Real strong and compact build. Ran the 60 in 7.32 seconds, top exit velo recorded at 87 MPH. Slightly crouched stance with his feet slightly open at the plate. Bigger leg kick, stays on time. Hip/shoulder separation at foot strike. Hands keep the barrel upright while creating some rhythm. Mature approach, worked all fields throughout his round. Defensively took reps behind the plate and recorded pop times ranging from 2.01-2.12 seconds, 74 MPH arm strength. Athletic through his throws, short arm action.
