Long, lean, strong frame at 6-foot-3 160-pounds with room to add bulk. Quick-actioned frame with loose, low 3/4 arm slot. Throws sinking 2 SMFB at 83 MPH and can get in on RH hitter with boring fastball. Fastball sat 80-83. Hides ball well with quick front side and herky-jerky delivery. SL is hard and sharp with diagonal movement and can throw to both sides of the plate at 72 MPH. Changeup shows arm speed and depth at the plate at 75 mph. Projectable body and fast arm. All pitches have sinking movement and makes it tough on hitters.
3/1/17
Alday has a long, lanky build at 6-foot-3 160-pounds with room to fill out frame. Fastball topped at 82 mph, sat mostly 80-82. Curveball had sharp 1/7 shape with tight spin at 66-68. Showcased a changeup with armside run at 72-74. Tall, firm balance leg, falls down the mound into bent landing leg. High-3/4 arm slot with long arm action. Downhill shoulders on first foot-strike. Lands slightly opened. On release, front landing foot shifts opened even more. Collapses into front landing leg - can be fixed with continued strength. Nice looking pitcher's frame and feel for breaking ball already.
