2017 New Jersey State Games (July 26-27, 2017)
Horneck has a lean, athletic build at 6-foot-2 175-pounds. Ran the 60 yard dash in 6.63-seconds, which was good for one of the top times from the whole event. Recorded an exit velocity of 85 MPH. Offensively – starts in a tall, opened stance with hands above back shoulder. Uses a leg lift and stride to start swing, Hand load is minimal, but creates rhythm prepitch in hands and arms. Wraps bat around head slightly with hand load. Ultra-quick and loose hands and hips through the zone. Fluid in bat path and finish helps produce gap to gap power with more in the tank as he continues to fill out his wiry-athletic frame. Defensively – took reps from the outfield. Throws topped at 79 MPH, longer arm action from an over-the-top slot. Horneck's unique gift of speed and hitting for power will make him a triples machine at the next level.

Underclass Games (September 18, 2016)

Horneck is long and wiry at 6-foot-1 158-pounds. Had one of the better days at the plate during gameplay with two hits including a triple down the RF line and a loud barrel line out to RF. Projects as a corner outfielder with exceptional speed for age (6.72 60 in June). Power and barrel awareness is exceptional for age. Pop will continue to improve as he puts on muscle and fills out lanky frame. Offensively- starts in a wide stance with a small leg kick to start swing. Hands are high above shoulder - drop to shoulder height as foot comes down from lift. Loose hips and hands generate pop. Pitching- Works primarily out of the stretch. FB was 71-73 touching 74. Long, stiff arm from high-3/4 angle.

Futures Preview (6/4/16)
Horneck is a 6-foot-1 160-pound first baseman and left handed pitcher with a very projectable, lanky frame. At the plate, Horneck put on one of the more impressive batting practices of the event. Possesses a lightning quick short swing through the zone, with exceptional barrel awareness for his age. The 2019 turned around a high 80's fastball during the simulated game for a loud fly out. Exit Velocity was 84. Throws from a high-3/4 angle on the mound, and pauses at balance point - topped out at 74, sat 72-74 for his whole outing.
