Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
75.0
Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
9.4
Infield Velocity
The athlete's maximum throwing velocity from an infield position in the given event year. Measured in miles per hour (MPH).
A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
Physical: High waisted, lean 6-foot-1, 170 lb frame
Pitching: Builds momentum well with a high leg lift and turn before getting into back side and driving out in line, pulls through to a flat back follow through over a strong front side; moderate arm swing pulling back out of the glove before accelerating through a high 3/4 release. FB: Works downhill with life out of the hand and arm side run up to 13". CB: High spin (2625 RPM) with tight break and 1-7 shape. CH: Quality hand speed with up to 17" arm side fade.
7/06/20
Physical: High waisted, projectable frame. 8.22 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, wide base with feet even and hands relaxed in front of back shoulder; toe tap stride with a relaxed load back of the hands. Strong effort while staying behind the ball; gets on plane early with a 15 degree attack angle and stays on plane with a 69% efficiency. Consistent hard contact with gap to gap pop; peak Trackman exit velocity of 87 MPH.
Defensively: Walks into ready position; active foot work around the bag playing through the ball routinely. confident glove with seamless transfer; short arm action to a 3/4 release. INF - 80 MPH.
Pitching: Uses a high leg lift staying tall as stride in line to a repeatable release and follow through. moderate take away to a clean, low 3/4 release. FB: T 75 MPH, 72-74 MPH. Locates with life through the zone, average metrics of spin - 2065 RPM, vertical movement of 10.1 inches and horizontal movement of 1 inch. CB: 65-68 MPH. Sharp 2:30-8:30 break with average vertical drop of 1.1 inch and 5 inches of horizontal movement. CH: 68-70 MPH. Good sell with arm side fade of 11.4 inches on average of horizontal movement.
2/29/20
Showcased a lean 6-foot, 150-pound frame with feel for his body and room to fill out as he matures. The primary left-handed pitcher sat 78-79 mph with slight, natural arm-side run out of a fluid, high ¾ arm-slot using hip-coil in his setup. Mixed in a 62-65 mph curveball showing 1/7 movement. Countered with a 67-70 mph changeup thrown with adequate sell. The right-handed hitter begins with a bent, even stance utilizing a controlled lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Generated a low-effort swing through a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Hit into a stiff front side with quality control of the barrel, with room to add onto an already solid 82 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran an 8.00 60-yard dash. The first baseman demonstrated average footwork with some feel around the bag using a low center of gravity and soft glove hand yielding accurate 76 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a high ¾ arm-slot.
7/30/19
A wiry athletic frame at 5-foot-11, 130 pounds. Offensively- the right handed hitter stands with the lower half in a wide base. Simple load actions. Short compact swing. Stays balanced throughout the hitting zone., Displayed hard consistent contact. The top exit velocity was 70 MPH. Defensively- the 1B sits back on the baseball. Fields the ball in an upright position. Smooth exchange and throws from a high ¾ arm slot. The top throwing velocity was 72 MPH. Pitching- the left handed pitcher displayed a repeatable delivery and projectable arm. The 2022 graduate works with a quick tempo in the delivery. Works off a high knee lift and drives downhill from a balanced backside. Arm is loose and throws from a ¾ arm slot. Displayed plus FB command which peaked at 75 MPH. FB ranged from 73-75 MPH. CB is tight and ranged from 62-64 MPH. The 2022 graduate has upside and will be one to watch as he continues to develop.
