Barnao stands in at 6-foot-0, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside his shoulders. Both knees show a large bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of the back shoulder using loud pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a quick knee raise into the stride forward while his hands move back into his hitting position. Hands are long through the zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high one-handed finish. Tends to let the ball get too deep over the plate prior to the swing. A more direct path to the ball with better timing will help bat speed, clean up rotation on the lower half and create more engagement of the lower body in the swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 75 MPH. Fielding- Good fielding mechanics getting in front of the baseball and funneling it into the chest. Quick transfer into the throwing position but needs to keep the arm swing shorter to get the ball out quicker. Accurate with throws but needs to have better aggressive footwork towards intended throwing target. Recorded a positional infielder arm velocity of 76 MPH. Pitching- Sets up in the middle of the rubber with a simple side step into a high leg kick above his hip crease. Could use more drive down the mound but shows appropriate separation getting into a good throwing position with a high ¾ release point. Utilizes whole body when throwing and repeats delivery on different pitches. Fastball sat 81-82 MPH and peaked at 82 MPH with good arm side run. Change-up has good arm side sink and sits 71-72 MPH. Curveball shows good 12/6 action and is 68-69 MPH.
