THE BREAKDOWN
East Rockaway (Section 8)
Record: 15-6
Road to Binghamton: Defeated Bridgehampton (Section 11) 5-4; Defeated Pine Plains (Section 9) 6-2.
Key Contributors: Stefano Cilluffo, Matt Perri, Dylan Henshaw
Semifinal Matchup: vs. Ticonderoga; 2pm @ Conlon Field.
Prediction: Some tough arms from Ticonderoga could give the young Rocks some difficulty in the semifinal.
Ticonderoga (Section 7)
Record: 11-2
Road to Binghamton: Defeated Bruston_moira (Section 10) 10-1; Defeated Maple Hill (Section 2) 2-0.
Key Contributors: Austin Barnao, Russel Gallo
Semifinal Matchup: vs. East Rockaway; 2pm @ Conlon Field.
Prediction: Despite not playing a ton of games, Ticonderoga could pull win it all with two good starts.
Lansing (Section 4)
Record: 17-4
Road to Binghamton: Defeated Little Falls (Section 3) 7-3.
Key Contributors: Garrett Bell, Lansing Miller
Semifinal Matchup: vs. Avon; 5pm @Conlon Field.
Prediction: Combo of Bell and Miller may be enough for Lansing to win it all.
Avon (Section 5)
Record: 21-1
Road to Binghamton: Defeated Silver Creek/Forestville (Section 6) 3-0.
Key Contributors: Maxx Countryman, Peyton Parmeter
Semifinal Matchup: vs. Lansing; 5pm @ Conlon Field.
Prediction: Another squad that seems equipped on the mound, this semifinal game may determine the eventual state champ.
Our Thoughts
"East Rockaway has 8 more games under their belt against some better competition, we expect them to advance over Ticonderoga despite their advantage on the mound. The winner of the Lansing/Avon game will most likely take the title as both teams are equipped on the mound. It's a toss up between those two so we will flip a coin and go with Avon over East Rockaway for the state title.
