Ran a 6.79 60-yard dash. Small Frame, slight build at 5-foot-6, 140-pounds. 73 mph arm strength, gets behind ball well on throws, shows accuracy. Above average reads in the OF. In the box, open stance with a leg kick for timing. Two hand high finish. Short and quick approach at the plate. 79 mph exit velo.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)

Standing 5-foot-6, 140-pounds with a lean athletic smaller build, ran a 6.67 60-yard dash time. At the plate, narrow stance slightly open, on the pitch drives forward on a level barrel plane, shoulder height finish, 76 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively, very aggressive using his speed to his advantage. Keeps body behind the ball, no issues on the transfer, uses a slightly shorter quick arm-action, throws form an high 3/4 slot with 75 mph arm-strength.
Academic Games (June 3, 2017)

Athletic/explosive 5-foot-5, 130-pound frame with a home to first time of 4.2. Offensively- Maintains level bat plane; extends through contact with an increased exit velocity of 75 MPH (up from 66 MPH in October).  Aggressive swings with late zone acceleration. Additional lower half effort will continue to build bat speed. Defensively - Smooth, clean footwork, effectively gets set up behind the ball to create momentum for throws 74 MPH. Aggressive approach and works through the ball. High motor/energy type player who maximizes abilities.
Last Chance Preview (October 30, 2016)

Sousa, a 2019 right-handed hitting outfielder, stands at 5-foot-5 130 pounds, ran an impressive
7.09 60. Offensively- Starts with a slightly open balanced lower half with the hands in front of and higher than the back shoulder and barrel of the bat almost parallel to the ground. Initiates the swing with a moderate front foot lift subtle weight shift to the backside while the hands are loaded straight back outside the back shoulder. While taking batting practice showed the ability to drive the ball from the pull side gap to centerfield. Stayed compact and was able to keep the barrel tight driving the middle in pitch to the center of the field with fairly good authority. If the back elbow can stay stronger and not collapse during approach to the ball, will be able to create a cleaner bat path as well as more extension which will improve the exit velocity of 66 MPHDefensively- Showed aggressively and fluid movements, fielding the ball on the glove side portion of the body. Funnels the ball to the lower chest area, transferring from there creating long arm action in sync with the lower half. Utilizes a strong crow hop to create momentum and energy to the infielders. Recorded an arm velocity of 70 MPH on the day. Carry and velocity can improve with better on the extension on throws which could be attained by staying more level with the shoulders which would keep the arms, during the throwing action, more parallel to each other.
