Caruso stands 5-foot-10, 155 pounds with a strong build. Ran a 7.87 60 yard dash time. Offensively- Righty sets up slightly open to the pitcher in a wide stance with his feet outside shoulder width. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of the back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his front side squares to the pitcher and moves into a stride forward while his hands move back slightly into his hitting position. Shows quick hands to the hitting zone with level barrel action throughout into a high two-handed finish; line drive results. Recorded an exit velocity of 86 MPH. Defensively- Approaches the ball with short, smooth steps to position himself well when receiving the ball. Uses a ¾ to side- arm angle to deliver the ball across the diamond with an infield velocity of 75 MPH. Footwork into his shuffle and throw a bit choppy; arm showed enough carry to handle 3B. Next level 3B/1B projection.
